A good friend of the family gave me some jewelry that she didn’t want anymore and this lovely metal pendant with an Art Nouveau inspired floral design was among them. I couldn’t find out who made it or when it came form, but I thought this was a real find that needed a little elbow grease to make it a brand new piece of jewelry once again.<\/p>\n

My inspiration for this project was Medieval and Renaissance era jewelry, since in those times, statement necklaces were the in thing to wear. Here are a few examples to check out:<\/p>\n

I really love the drama and the craftsmanship of this type of jewelry and I felt this would be perfect for the pendant: a thick strand of large pearls and colorful beads with a tassel of small pearls dangling on the bottom.<\/p>\n
