This is an old post from a blog I used during my graduate studies at Parsons. While I was there getting my masters degree in Design and Technology, I made the time to visit the Museum of Modern Art’s retrospective of performance artist Marina Abramovic (“The Artist Is Present”).

I first heard about her and this event in an article from W Magazine. It talked about a brand new performance she was doing for the exhibit, where she sits at a table in the middle of the room for the duration of the retrospective and people are invited to sit across from her for as long as they want. I took a chance and got to be a part of the performance myself, sitting across from her for about 20-25 minutes before I had to stop.
